Gefiltefest is an epic, full day of events dedicated to food: Jewish traditions, ethics and history - and plenty of tastings too, taking place in Willesden from 9.30 am till 8.00 pm.
The event will involve a full range of food related activities, including four excellent chefs giving talks and demonstrations: Denise Phillips on 'Cooking for Shabbat'; Judy Jackson on 'Why children should play with their food'; Silvia Nacamulli and Lisa Roukin.
There will also be Challa making, urban beekeeping, firethrowing, as well as discussions on the ethics of Shechita with Rabbi Natan Levy, Olivier Samuel and Rabbi Jeremy Gordon, the chance to learn about Judaism and GM food and and how to grow your own greens with Big Green Jewish!
There will be plenty of opportunities to taste, talk about and enjoy food from every perspective!
Keep an eye out for the raffle, where you can win signed cookbooks from Nigella Lawson, Yotam Ottolenghi and Jane Asher, as well as restaurant vouchers, massages and bottles of wine!
Proceeds will go to two food charities, the Bet Shean Foodbank and Leket Gefiltefest is aiming to raise £1500 this year and £5000 next year.
Tickets have almost sold out - you can book tickets here.
Full details of the location of the event will be sent with your tickets. Please note, ingredients used in demonstrations will be Kosher, but the event will not be supervised.
