We are delighted that Nick Dearden, the Director of the Jubilee Debt Campaign (JDC), will be our guest speaker. The JDC calls for an end to developing countries repaying unjust debts to wealthier, developed countries. JDC have had some huge successes including cancelling Haiti’s crippling debt and stopping vulture funds, companies who buy debts and then sue the country for the full amount plus compensation.
There will also be opportunity to discuss, contribute and get involved in the future of Tzedek. This includes hearing from Josh Simons, Tzedek's researcher, who has recently returned from three months in Ghana, looking for innovative ways that the Jewish community can best support partners in the developing world.
