We have been fortunate to be able to bring together two very eminent women who as good friends will share the platform and provide you with an educational and entertaining evening on how to feed your mind, body and soul.
Baroness Susan Greenfield CBE is a scientist, writer, broadcaster and member of the House of Lords. Pinky Lilani OBE has put themission of people development at the heart of her professional life. She combines her love of people with her love of food. Some of you may have seen Pinky cook before. I never thought I liked Indian food until I tasted Pinky’s cooking. It certainly isn’t like going to a local Indian restaurant and gives you the opportunity to taste and learn to cook authentic Indian home cooking prepared from the freshest spices and ingredients.
Pinky has written several books, has been on cookery television, advises manufacturers on Indian food development and is Chairman of the Asian Women Of Achievement Awards, Women Of The Future Awards, The Global Empowerment Award, The Inspirational Educationist Award, The Women Of The Future Economic Empowerment Summit, The Ambassadors Programme And The Inspirational Women’s Network.
She is also at the forefront of interfaith understanding among women being the Co founder of the Women’s Interfaith Network. She is a mentor with the Princes Youth Business Trust (PYBT) Trust, is a member of the Court of Brunel University, on the steering group of the Cherie Blair foundation and on the Advisory board of Sapphire. Pinky's specialist subjects include food, success, communication, motivation and inspiration.
We are going to be serving welcome drinks and snacks followed by an Indian buffet supper. The first part of the evening will be a presentation by Susan who will discuss food for thought and harnessing technology in our high speed world. She promises to challenge our preconceptions and offer us value information on how to look after our own and our children’s well being in a way that we will all understand.
After that Pinky will be talking about her own work and how the power of positive thinking has framed her own amazing success story. She will demonstrate her Spice Magic and some dishes from the buffet.
There will be the opportunity to ask questions and meet both of these extraordinary women.
Money raised will go towards Tzedek’s ROH project in India. The Relief Organisation for the Handicapped (ROH) works to alleviate poverty for disabled people in the impoverished area of Hindupur, Andra Prodesh in India. The programme aims to give long term income stability by providing skills training on tailoring, basket making, book binding/envelope making, and paper and leaf plates making. Individuals are then encouraged to form groups who work together to form businesses. They are then given loans to set up their business. To date we have successfully supported over 110 individuals and with your help we aim to help a further 330 individuals. For more information about this programme please visit here.
