Selection for interview will be based on your application form. It is therefore important that your application includes all the information requested.  Successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible after interview. Please note that it is often impossible to confirm a volunteer’s particular placement until after they have arrived in the country.

Before the programme begins
You will have plenty of assistance from Tzedek in preparing for the programme! We will send a pack out to you with lots of practical information once you have been accepted onto the programme.  You will also be sent a fundraising pack, which will help you to raise £350 for Tzedek's overseas projects, and £450 to contribute towards the cost of the programme.

The programme
The programme will begin in London at the end of June, when there will be an orientation in our London office. The orientation will continue in Ghana before you start your work as a volunteer. If you have further questions, please contact the Tzedek office.

The volunteer placement in Ghana will finish on 27th August 2010.  Please note that it is the volunteer’s responsibility to book their flights.

After you return from Ghana
Tzedek does not just run volunteer programmes. We have many different projects with which to get involved. Volunteers are expected to commit to Tzedek for a minimum of 10 months after their placement. Past volunteers have spoken about their experiences at University Jewish Societies, in schools and synagogues. Others have joined the VPT, the Overseas Programmes Team and have organised fundraisers to raise money for Tzedek. Throughout the programme we will discuss how you can continue your involvement with Tzedek.  You will also be required to attend an Action Day (including a concluding feedback meeting) where you will be able to discuss your experiences with the VPT and provide valuable feedback on your programme.
