Selection for interview will be based on your application form. It is therefore important that your application includes all the information requested. If you are selected for an interview, we will ask you to prepare a 3 minute presentation on a development issue of your choice, and consider its relevance to a Jewish group of volunteers. If selected, we may also ask you to bring your presentation with you on the volunteer programme to share with other volunteers as part of an informal education programme. Successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible after interview. Please note that it is often impossible to confirm a volunteer’s particular placement until after they have arrived in the country. |
You will have plenty of assistance from Tzedek in preparing for the programme! There will be an informal day in mid-April where you will meet the other volunteers and you will find out how to prepare yourself before leaving the UK.
The Summer programme will begin in London at the end of June, when there will be three days of orientation in our London office. The orientation will continue in your host country before you start your work as a volunteer.
If you have further questions, please contact the Tzedek office. |
The volunteer programme will finish on 29th August 2008. It is the volunteer’s responsibility to book their flights. |
Tzedek does not just run volunteer programmes. We have many different projects with which to get involved. Volunteers are expected to commit to Tzedek for a minimum of one year after their placement. Past volunteers have spoken about their experiences at University Jewish Societies, in schools and synagogues. Others have joined the VPG, the Overseas Programmes Group and have organised fundraisers to raise money for Tzedek. At the Action Day we will discuss how you can continue your involvement with Tzedek and you can provide valuable feedback on your programme. |
We recommend that you contact a past volunteer to find out more about the experience. Email: info@tzedek.org.uk to request volunteers’ contact details to be sent to you. You should also read about experiences of past volunteers on the country pages – follow the links on the right. If you decide to apply, you will need to: |
